The IBS is a smart sensor located on the battery. It’s connected to the control panel on which you can view the battery voltage (V), the immediate current consumption (A), the remaining battery capacity in the form of a bar graph and finally the remaining available energy expressed as time (h).

To view the four displays mentioned above, the IBS must be properly configured. To do so, go into the settings by turning on your control panel then pressing the two buttons on the bottom left (see the video at 1:04). Go into the “SYSTEM” menu then scroll through (using the Prog button) until you reach the “AMPER” interface and select “hella” mode (using the arrows to scroll). You can exit the “SYSTEM” menu.

To configure the battery data, change the menu to “SETTING”. Scroll through to “CAPACITY” mode and enter the cumulative capacity of your batteries (for two 90Ah batteries, set the capacity to 180 Ah). Then modify your battery type in “BATTERY” mode.

To exit and save your modifications, you should now scroll through to the general settings, tap through to “EXIT”, confirm using the “Prog” button and confirm “SAVE” by selecting “YES”.

The configuration of your IBS is now complete. Please note: the IBS data will not be immediately available because it takes around 4 hours (with the control panel turned off) for the IBS to fully configure itself.

Is your IBS no longer displaying the remaining available energy and the current consumed (A) is positive? If so, one of the two following cases applies:

-          Your camping-car is plugged into the mains and you are recharging your batteries

-          You have a positive energy intake thanks to the solar panels during fine weather

In this case, your IBS displays the “CHARGE” logo instead of displaying the hours.

Consequently, the consumption of electricity in your camping-car will no longer be limited to the energy from your batteries as they are plugged into a more powerful energy source (hence the positive recharging current). The remaining battery life can therefore not be displayed as the batteries are continually recharging.
